Description

A waxy cast whose broken surface shows that the inside of the cast contains many packed cells. Since the cast is surrounded by many isomorphic erythrocytes, one might infer that the cells within the cast also are erythrocytes. This image might support the view that waxy casts derive from degenerated cells.
