Definition. A condition caused by a glomerular disease, clinically characterized by proteinuria ≥3.5 g/24 hours associated with hypoalbuminemia, hypercholesterolemia and variable oedema.
In this condition, the urinary sediment contains very often large amounts of fatty particles such as lipid droplets, oval fat bodies, fatty casts and cholesterol crystals.
